Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye!

Stop me if you have heard/read this before.

Apparently, the tolerance level for bad singers is pretty low among the Filipinos. And even lower when it comes to Frank Sinatra's version of 'My Way'.

Nip a potential Himesh Reshammiya in the bud – pretty much sums up the feeling there.

And they don't belong to that shallow school of thought that restricts its displeasure to hurling a few rotten eggs here and a few stale tomatoes there and go home content with the false conviction that they have done their bit to earn a night's repose.

According to modest estimates, half a dozen such poor singers have vanished off the face of earth for their fatally imperfect rendition of the number. The local media keeps a tally of what they call 'My Way Killings'.

The general consensus among the crooners there is that you sing the number in the local Karaoke bars only after you have: i) a bullet-proof jacket inside; ii) updated your life insurance premiums; iii) signed the will in presence of your lawyers; and iv) kissed your kid on the forehead one last time.

So now you know why Harbhajan Singh should thank his stars that: i) he's not a singer; and ii) he's an Indian to boot.

earlier i used to think irfan was the most lucky player playing internatinal cricket... but consistent performances from bhajji have forced me to think otherwise...

one good thing this defeat has done that it has started tail wagging about bhajji from all over so he needs to show or pack his bags... but on other hand the disappointment is that only one test left with next many moons afar... ppl will forget about it...

SP, exactly so. And mark my words, Bhajji will perform marginally better in Eden Gardens and claim he has silenced the critics.

BTW, if Bhajji is the problem, who is the solution you guess?

som... i have given enough hints on bored... :)

SP, on another note, don't you think not having a left-hander in the middle order somehow handicaps a team? Those footmarks that Harris made a career out of would have been negated so easily. But Yuvi had injury - not that I expected him to set alight the match -- and then the selectors went bonker.

it was not the foot marks but the mind marks created by steyn that were the problem... :)

SP, I'm not so sure about mind marks. I think Steyn was just unplayable at moments. Have never seen someone rendering the pitch so irrelevant. He was breathing fire and our batsmen simply did not have the skill to overcome him. I think it's little harsh on Steyn to say that Indian batsmen lost just a psychological battle. This was pace bowling at its best.

agree its harsh on steyn but i was referring to why we not attacked harris more... :)

SP, that's still something I can't understand. As Ravi Shastri once said, he treated him like Lord Harris and not as Paul Harris. I would go to the extent of saying that he should have been treated like a Harish Pal and not even Paul Harris!

I must confess I simply did not get it till I read the offending quotes myself.
Its a good thing "The Hall of the Mountain King" isn't inspiring a similar reaction, I spent an entire afternoon last sunday listening to 30 off different renditions on grooveshark... Not a fan of death metal but apocalyptica's version was in my top three... anyway, anything not to mention the lucky weasels name. Pissed off that he's going to get a raging turner in Kolkata... (will you be at the stadium?) and ur first reply to SP is spot on... Kumble has already extended the customary support to our struggling spinner's chances at Eden Gardens.

Achettup, I don't really blame Kumble. He's a gentleman to the core with not a single word to say against his harshest critic. Wish could read his mind:)

I have a doubt.

Is the five point someone is saying" you should be vomiting like this for seeing my bowling".?

Imemyself, welcome to Doosra. I only suggested that Bhajji has become quite nauseating.
