He does not have ears to soothe, palms to grease and egos to massage. So when Sehwag speaks, better listen.
In a world where honesty is as rare as greentops in the sub-continent or a dust bowl Down Under, sample the brute candour as Sehwag chatted with Sanjay Manjrekar during an award ceremony this afternoon.
Confession of a compulsive hitter: Don’t want to waste a ball (on leaving/ducking).
His occasional regret: At times you have to leave a ball.
Mendis Who? He got me out only once in 6-7 times.
Part of history he wants to expunge from the annals of human civilization: One full session I batted without scoring a boundary.
Respect for pundits: I don’t listen to people, watch TV or read newspapers.
Need of practice match: Waste of time.
Reverence for the bowling tribe: Apart from McGrath and Murali, I can hit any bowler for a boundary whenever I want.

And they say a star must have his/her turns...Sehwag shows realness can have greater star value.
Soulberry, exactly. Like his batting, Sehwag is a natural straight-from-heart speaker who has not been spoiled by the PR guys. Hope he stays so.
Haha! boy, was he intense talking abt that 'no boundary session'. Convinced he feels that's his biggest accomplishment.

any other player saying this line will be condemned for the arrogance in statement but not viru...
his thoughts don't get lost in mind translation...
NC, that was hilarious. He sounded pretty much apologetic about it. As if it was a blot on his career.
SP, I think Viru is one of those rare cricketers who knows that fine line between confidence and arrogance.
gng by the Atul Kasbekar pic credits, Sehwag should have been in bikini modelling for the kingfisher calendar
Bored Member, Sehwag has stripped many a bowler (of their reputation). So I guess some of those bowlers could have featured in such a calendar.
nothing ventured nothing gained!!
sehwag's, now decided to be the next guest at one of the those comedy shows!
U can call him "big headed" or optimistic shall we say with that conversation.
But nothing ethically wrong in doing so as he's scored hundereds and played matchwinning knocks against the best in the business. Also in recent times he's been a matchwinning bowler and outspun the likes of Harbajhan.

Kind redards-Abdul
Ankit, it sounds more intimidating than comic if you are a bowler:) Wish they could see the humorous part of it:))
Abdul, if you hear Sehwag, you know he doesn't brag. He is a very simple man whon only speaks his heart out. He has this quiet confidence about him laced with an unmistakable humility which convince you that he is just not another humbug. It's a unique combination and you lap up every word he mutters. Just like this guy.
